Easy Homemade Croutons

Homemade Croutons are a crunchy, flavorful way to jazz up your favorite salads, soups, and more...

...and not only is this crouton recipe easy to make, but it’s also a great way to use up stale bread!

INGREDIENTS

*bread *butter + EVOO *salt + pepper *garlic powder *dried herbs *grated Parmesan

Preheat oven and cut bread into 1-inch cubes.

Cut.

In a bowl, combine melted butter, olive oil, salt, garlic powder, and dried herbs.

Combine.

Place the bread cubes in a very large bag or a bowl with a tight-fitting lid.

Transfer.

Drizzle the bread cubes with the herb mixture, seal the bag/cover the bowl, and shake until the cubes are evenly coated.

Shake.

Pour the cubes onto a rimmed sheet pan, spread into a single layer, and season with pepper.

Spread out.

Bake, flip, and sprinkle with Parmesan, if desired.

Bake and flip.

Bake a bit longer, watching carefully and stirring, until croutons are your preferred shade of golden brown.

Bake again.

Adjust the seasonings, if necessary. Allow to cool completely and then store in an airtight container.

Taste and cool.
