• Italian sausage • extra-virgin olive oil • garlic • diced tomatoes in puree • tomato sauce • dried basil • dried oregano • dried thyme • garlic powder • sugar • salt + pepper • crushed red pepper flakes • ziti pasta • ricotta cheese • mozzarella (grated + fresh) • Parmesan

Cook the Italian sausage and garlic until browned.

Stir in the tomatoes, tomato sauce, herbs, and garlic powder. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.
Boil ziti in salted water until al dente; drain and set aside.

Stir the cooked ziti into the marinara sauce. Mix in ricotta cheese and grated mozzarella
Pour pasta into a large baking dish. Top with sliced fresh mozzarella and sprinkle with grated Parmesan. Bake for 30 minutes.
